Liver and Spleen

This is to check for issues with your liver and spleen along with symptoms of upper abdominal discomfort and / or bloating. Please fast for 6 hours prior to the scan.

This is to check for gallstones and causes for upper abdominal discomfort especially after eating. Please fast for 6 hours prior to the scan.

This is to assess the pancreas and causes of liver function test abnormalities and causes of central abdominal pain/upper back pain.

This is to assess the kidneys when there is a drop in kidney function, blood in urine, difficulty urinating or upper back pain.

This is to assess the Aorta as a cause for a pulsating abdomen and to check if this may be causing back pain. This is also used to screen for an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA).

This includes a scan of the liver, spleen, biliary tree (gallbladder + common bile duct + intrahepatic duct), pancreas, kidneys and aorta. Please fast for 6 hours prior to the scan.

This is to scan the bladder if you are having difficulty urinating, wetting yourself (incontinence) or have blood in urine. This requires a full bladder- please aim to drink 2 pints/ 1 Litre 1 hour before the scan

This includes a scan of the kidneys and bladder. See above for more details about the individual scans. This requires a full bladder- please aim to drink 2 pints/ 1 Litre 1 hour before the scan.

This scan is to check for blood clots (DVT’s) in the calf and upper arm.

This is a scan of the back of the knee to check for a potential baker’s cyst.
